'Who' is the TRUE-Life Mel Gibson like?

You know, I personally believe, that EVERY actor-- and many of the good and brilliant ones-- brings much of his own (true-life, reality based) character into the characters they portray on screen.
I'm not saying, that the screen-characters are 100 percent the actors who portray them; that's stupid to assume. But some degree, to a lesser or more extent, of the actor's character does show and come-to-fruition in the screen-character portrayed, by that same actor.
So, my question, regarding Mel Gibson (whom I absolutely adore and admire as an actor, person/man and of-course director) is this:
Gibson showed us one character-- on the large and varying spectrum of characters there is-- in his (beautiful, touching and inspiring) portrayal in "THE MAN WITHOUT A FACE 1993"-- where he portrayed the brilliant, remarkably intelligent and very sensitive character of the (self)isolated and hurting teacher-- Justin Macleod.
Sad irony is that like that character of Justin Macleod in "THE MAN WITHOUT A FACE"-- Mel Gibson, the actor himself (I so feel), is kind-of-being pushed by two-faced and hypocritical people into being 'isolated' because of his
recent family-trouble and because he didn't sing praise to the people running Hollywood.
Anyhow, in "Get the Gringo" Gibson portrays a character (of 'Driver'), while intelligent and 'street-smart'-- which is many miles away and contrastic to that of Justin Macleod from THE MAN WITHOUT A FACE. In "Get the Gringo" Gibson's character may be the HERO-- but he's far from the moral, sensitive, non-violent and wonderful character that Macleod is, in his first directed movie from 1993.
So the question I wonder about-- which I hope will result in a civil and good-mannered discussion-- which character has more of the REAL-LIFE (reality based) Mel Gibson in it?
That of Teacher Justin Macleod in THE MAN WITHOUT A FACE or the conniving and violent character in GET THE GRINGO?
Or, could it be-- due to knowing that Gibson, in real-life, DOES have anger-management problems, and alcoholism problems (from the recent real-life events from Gibson's life)-- the "REAL-TRUE Life" Mel Gibson is actually a combination-of-sorts of these two characters mentioned here?
Hoping for a good (and intelligent) discussion; Please keep it civil in your answers-- and please don't bother to answer just to spew-hatred on Gibson, if for whatever of your personal reasons-- you don't like the guy.
Cause hate-spewing? It shows.
Regards and Blessings.
