The kid in this film was a genuinely unlikable character

I started watching this movie when it came on cable one night, and I just couldn't stand the kid starring in this film. He was just such an unlikable character. He is one of those people who tries way too hard to be witty, but simply winds up sounding like an annoying whiney douche instead. Couldn't stand him, and I had no sympathy for his character considering his terrible personality.

Really? I agree his was a little *beep* but did you see his home life or how his neighbors were?

He's just confused and angry and doesn't know who he can trust. Then when he find the Mel Gibson character he starts to feel a sense of belonging and is told he can't have that because this man is supposedly bad.

Given the boys age his behaviour is understandable.

Sometimes a movie or tv show plot is so stupid that only the stupid can understand it.
