for shadowing

I've heard people talk about how this movie is full of for shadowing. I can think of the one where the little kid in Nicole's pre-school class puts the bag over his head and of course later....in the last scecne of the movie...you know what happens :)
What are some other ones?

reply

1. the boy dummy at the police station which was later used as the neighbor's kid as a trap.
2. Andy having to give a sperm sample to clear him from a rape case will later be used to reveal a secret about his wife.
3. The conversation between Jed and Andy at the bar where Jed says what would you give up for a million dollars, an arm, a finger?

reply

It's 'foreshadowing', not 'for shadowing'.

reply

meh, lol

reply

Oh did I reply to your message? I meant to reply to the original OP. Oops. Sorry.

reply

Maybe you are just "dumb and incapable of replying intelligently." How hard is it to click on the correct post?

I meant to reply to the original OP.

By the way, your sentence is incorrect. It should be written: 'I meant to reply to the OP', or 'I meant to reply to the original poster.' It's too bad teachers did not instruct you on the difference. Now you look stupid and incapable of replying intelligently. Please take your correction like an adult. Don't get all defensive and attack me for pointing out your stupid mistake. I know spelling and grammar mistakes are a pet peeve of yours and you most certainly would want to be notified. I know you didn't ask but if I didn't tell you then you would never know about this stupid mistake. Since you spend relentless hours on the internet policing for spelling errors, I'm sure you would want us to correct all of yours.

reply

Maybe you are rude and full of yourself.

It's true, the post you are replying to isn't the best example of writing. I am curious about something. If that person had been speaking to you and you heard their words in person, what would your response have been?

Is this what you do? Ignore the question at hand, waiting for a chance to correct someone?

Flaunting an error by someone and having zero contribution to the subject is considered by many as nothing more than an insecure person trying to make themselves feel superior.

The thing is siobanphotogirl never replied to anyone incorrectly anyway, so I don't know why hotbody805 had to say anything.

Just one of those people I guess, or maybe the two of them have a history.

...then whoa, differences...

reply

Its 'foreshadowing', not 'for shadowing'
Thanks for clarifying that. I was wondering what they were talking about.

reply

I replied to the person to replied to you by accident and that means the wrong person got corrected.
I meant to tell _you_ that it's 'foreshadowing', not 'for shadowing'.

reply

I replied to the person to replied to you

Since you're playing spelling/grammar police, it's "....that replied to you" not "...to replied to you".

reply

Well correcting one word is hardly being the 'spelling/grammar police' (a little sensitive, are we?).

I don't know why I made the mistake I did. I may have had two different trains of thought that got mixed up with each other.

reply

You don't have to get all defensive. If you are going to dish it, then you have to take it.
People like you ruin the discussion boards with your condescending remarks. Posters on this board are all different ages, and for many, English is a second language. So lighten up!

reply

You call that defensive?!!??

I can take correction! People who can't handle being corrected get all foul-mouthed and offensive.

So says the woman who wrote a dissertation on contractions & homophones in a "Hotel Rwanda" thread. You then call the posters "stupid" and "dumb and incapable of writing intelligently." The majority of your posts are snide remarks about other posters spelling and grammar. You are the very definition of a "Grammar Nazi". How much fun are you? I can't imagine you have any friends.

I don't know why I made the mistake I did. I may have had two different trains of thought that got mixed up with each other.

Perhaps you are "Feeling inadequate about your lack of knowledge of basic grammar rules, poor thing." Maybe you are just "dumb and incapable of writing intelligently."

reply

It should be 'the person WHO replied to you', not 'that', because it's referring to a person, not an object.

There. *Now* I'm playing grammar police.

reply

Anal retentive spelling/grammar police at it again.

reply

Feeling inadequate about your lack of knowledge of basic grammar rules, poor thing.

I bet you don't have any friends. You spend your pathetic life policing internet message boards for spelling errors. Poor pitiful thing. It sucks to be you.

By the way your sentence is incorrect. It should be "Feeling inadequate about your lack of knowledge of basic grammar rules? Poor thing."

reply

"You spend your pathetic life policing the internet message boards for spelling errors."

There's the pot calling the kettle black. You're following me around from board to board calling me names and hoping it will insult me! You're one to call my life pathetic!

reply

Looks like I struck a nerve. Now please fix all those errors I found in your posts. You can't berate other posters for spelling and grammar errors when you make them yourself.

reply

(this thread was awesome!! If the internet was a sitcom, this thread would be Seinfeld)

reply

Ya know, I used to work for the Grammar Police. I quit because the pay sucked and everyone argued all the time about what was correct grammar and what was not. Most of all I quit because I got tired of beating people over the head with my intelligence and wit. After a while, criticizing someone over a little mistake no longer made me feel superior, or even good......
Besides all that, this forum is s'posed to be about movies, not grammar and spelling and stuff.
Peace!
