Ending Spoiler Needed!

Ok, just watched a yard sale tape of this movie, and it ended prematurely. Luckily, we got to the ending rooftop scene. However, just after it blacks out and they show the cat purring, the movie stopped. We think there is more to it... Would appreciate a summary from after the reveal on the rooftop.
