So glad I saw this in the cinema
This was such a wonderful movie, and so beautiful on the big screen. As others have said, it wasn't promoted well, and is under-known and underrated. It's one of those really good movies from the '90s, a time many seem to regard as very dark ages for movie-making. Others I admire or love from the '90s: THE PAPER; LONE STAR; WAITING FOR GUFFMAN; OUT OF SIGHT; JACKIE BROWN; MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING; PRIMARY COLORS; FRIED GREEN TOMATOES; DOLORES CLAIBORNE; THE FISHER KING; all the John Sayles movies from that decade; GRACE OF MY HEART; the 1995 LES MISÉRABLES, with Jean-Paul Belmondo, WHAT'S EATING GILBERT GRAPE; ED WOOD...lots more.
Multiplex: 100+ shows a day, NONE worth watching. John Sayles' latest: NO distribution. SAD.
