Anyone know why after all these years, they have scrapped the end song by Jordy and replaced with a totally different song called Sleigh Ride, it spoils the film to show this alternative ending, I always looked forward to that little boy singing that song?
Did Jordy want more money or royalties etc, or a dispute etc?

I agree with you i bought the dvd as i love the classic films of the 80's and early 90's and although i'm an adult i was really looking forward to that ending and was very disappointed - bring back the original ending PLEASE..........

Here in the UK tonight this movie was on TV and it still had the original ending. Must just be DVD releases.

I have a worn out tape with the Jordy-ending, and I love it,
that song just belongs to that movie.
Bought the Dutch version, with an alternative ending, threw it away, bought the UK version, same story, bought the USA version and again the same story;
threw those crappy DVD's all in the dustbin, and now I still watch my worn-out-video-transfered-to-DVD-disc,
but I wish it will come out again on DVD one day with the original ending.

OMG I can't believe I forgot about this part!! It had been a few years since I watched it to when I got it on dvd and you guys have reminded me that this bit isn't on it. I'm gutted lol.

Could it be a Copyright/Contractual issue. Like the early VHS release of Airplane, where all non original music was removed.

because of your remark I bought the German dvd from amazon.de (after I already spent money on the Dutch, US and UK version), and the German version does NOT have the Jordy song in it either.

Really? They cut a song from Muppet Christmas Carol too on the DVd release. Thank God I'm aware as I hate edited versions of films.

O know its summer now but you can watch this film on Netflix with the original ending on their streaming service.
