Why is this movie dedicated to Francis Bouygues?

At the end it says the movie is dedicated to the memory of Francis Bouygues, who was a French industrial who died in 1993. His company still exists and is a huge public contractor as well as telecommunications company. He had a reputation of being quite the ruthless leader, feared more than loved, not exactly Buddhist in his attitude.

Bouygues produced a couple of movies and tv programs, e.g. Twin Peaks. As far as I understand, he was originally involved in producing Little Buddha as well. But like you mentioned, he died in 1993 before the movie was finished. But otherwise I agree with what you wrote! I was wondering as well.

Aside from the previous comment, maybe dedicating the movie to a "ruthless leader" was to help inspire compassion and oneness with all life, good and bad. ?
