*spoilers*

if you paid any attention at all to the end of the movie you'll see that not only was she telling the truth but the older sister, Chrissy, also came forward and told the judge and jury that the father'd done the same thing to her. Also, judging by the way the son acted in the bath with Keith, either he'd witnessed Kelly being abused or he'd been abused himself or both.

Personally, I liked it...good story, great performance from Vanessa King (Kelly), and the plot twist made it worth watching...you start to get the impression that Kelly may not be telling the truth about her father's abuse, and then after Patrick's episode w/Keith in the bathroom, it all comes together (so THAT'S why he's afraid to be locked in the bathroom!), not to mention bringing Chrissy's long-repressed memories of her own abuse to the surface. On a side note, one review claims this movie was based on an actual Canadian sex abuse case...anyone know more about it?

I liked the movie. I missed the start so the first scene I saw was the one Chrissy asked her father did you do it? So at the start I thought Kelly was making it up but then when her little brother said "I believe you Kelly" I knew she wasn't and that he was abused too. There's no other way he'd know. The older sister part of the story I didn't like too much, if she had been abused I don't think it would have taken her as long to believe Kelly not matter how much Kelly lies about other things.

Nobody should lie about this. Especially since Gil had an orgy of evidence stacked against him.

did you not like the movie because you didn't actually watch it? if you had watched it, you'd have seen he very clearly did abuse three of his children, and you may have liked it a bit better since you wouldn't have found it confusing in the slightest.
