Good lawsy! What is all over that guy during the beginning of the movie?! Is it sh!t? Why would mud be in the bottom of a concrete cell? If it was sh!t, then why is Forrest touching him like it isn't? Gross, but what an awesome movie.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was supposed to be feces. in the beginning I was wondering because the consistency was off, unless it was supposed to be diarrhea and even then it looked more like oil. But by what Forrest says later on it has to be defecation. I guess we were supposed to pretend that some of it actually came off when he hosed Kiefer. I imagine they had to do that scene a few times and cut Kiefer some slack. Or maybe he was just desensitized or not grossed out by it. I'm sure he's seen some nasty things as a cop.
