I'm watching the unrated version right now. Haven't seen the R-rated version.

Is the new DVD release the rated or unrated version? I noticed on ebay that it was described as R rated but I just can't believe that would be the version they release. I mean, why?

What specifically are the differences between the R-rated and unrated version? I saw it years ago and was unimpressed. Over the years I've heard it mentioned as a softcore classic and I thought I'd give it a second look, laregly because I've always found Joan Severance sexy, whether dressed or undressed (although I greatly prefer the latter). So I got it from Netflix and their version, according to the mailing sleeve, is rated R. All I know is that I find it much more erotic this time than the first time. The scene in the bath house surprised me with its steaminess (no pun intended). It's hard to imagine how an "unrated" version could take it any further without putting it into "X" territory. I suppose a glimpse of Mr. Zane's schlong or some labia might get it "unrated," but now if there is an unrated and even more erotic version, I'd love to see that. The quest begins. . . .

Bilwick1:

The difference between the rated and unrated is substantial--particularly in the bathhouse scene. In the rated version, Zane and Severance are alone. In the rated version, May Karasun joins them, Also it seemed to me that some of the other sex scenes are longer. I usually use this tape to show how different versions can be. I believe the unrated version is available in Australia (which means you have to have a multi-region player).

The rated R version on Netflix stream has the bathhouse scene described by jsperry-2. It might have different ratings for different versions, unrated in the late 80's/early 90's would pass for R without batting an eye these days. I remember the VHS version of the film had the watered down bath scene. I've never seen it on dvd.

Er, uhm, cough cough! The unrated version, from what I have been told, is as follows: The scene where the two ladies are engaged in a lesbian sex scene in the suana, the R rated version their nipples don't touch, in the unrated version, the women's nipples touch, and I guess the censors went wild.
