Why did Mr. Mungo tell Lydia that his name was... Mr. Thamyris?

It seemed like there was more to it than him just giving a fake name to a "working lady." It seemed like he had some connection to this Greek name - Thamyris - like it was somehow relevant to him or his past, but the movie didn't make it clear, at least not that I could tell... Any ideas?? (If you look Thamyris up on Wikipedia, you will see that it has Greek mythology connections, but I didn't draw any connection between the mythological Thamyris, and Mr. Mungo...).

In the book Hotchner goes into more detail about this man's life. It seems that he was once a wealthy attorney whose investments were crushed by the Depression. After that, he lived in a fantasy world. The Greek name was just part of the secret world that he built to keep out the real world of poverty and shame.
