How is this a sequel to 'Just One of the Guys'?

So imdb says this movie is a sequel to "just one of the guys". I haven't seen this yet but I just want to know how it is a sequel. Please tell me

saw this years ago so i'm going off of memory here:

the characters have no relation to the characters of the first movie. it's just the same scenario but applied to the opposite gender. (guy dresses up as girl)

It's a sequel, just in-name-only. When it debuted on TV before it hit video back in the early '90's it was marketed as a sequel.

I know I'm very late to this conversation but I thought I'd chime in. According to IMDb, this movie is actually a sequel to 2 movies. It follows Just One of the Guys and He's My Girl. I guess originally they wanted it to be an in-name-only sequel to one of these films. I found it funny that it's a sequel to two movies.
