Was fully waxed common back then?
I had gotten the idea that shaved had only become mainstream in the past decade or so? Anyone have any information on this?
shareWell, shaving legs was common for a long time. I can't tell you about the US, but in Europe shaved armpits and bikini areas were already quite common, above the upper lip or arms usually not. "Fully waxed" is indeed something which only became mainstream in (late) 90s and 00s.
Of course this all only applies to girls. As a guy you can still look like monkey with very hairy back, shoulders, etc. without having to fear the consequences.
