I know it seems funny to be bothered by this, but every time I see it , I can't help but note that the harness that lowered the cow into the raptor pen doesn't have a drop of blood on it. The cow was torn to pieces (the harness certainly was), yet the was any blood on it at all. That thing should have been dripping red, but I guess that would have been considered too gory.

shareSpielberg left so much stuff out of the book that he probably didn't even think anyone would notice things like this to begin with lol.
shareSpeilberg thought this would have been way to grusome and graphic at this point in the film. Speilberg divided this film in two clear sections - wonder and amazement (first half) terror and horror (2nd half). This jusy wouldnt have fit into this part of the film. (making exception to the opening scene)
shareI presume Spielberg felt that the scene was gruesome enough even without showing the cow being attacked.
