Being all tender with the guy in the beginning who got shot that led to the whole chase? He was all over him and givin him some TLC. WTF??

Yeah but it was such a forced, phony concern. A few minutes earlier he was this tough guy, then he's all Mr Sensitivity? So forced.

My guess is that John found himself in a situation and bit more than he can chew. He realized that he wasn't as tough as he thought he was.
