I'm obsessed with watching all the different versions of Journey To The Center Of The Earth and I can't find a copy of this version. It's never been released on VHS or DVD. Oddly enough though it was on Netflix Instant Watch for a short period of time, but is now inaccessible. Does anyone have a recorded copy from a TV airing or know of a place online to find this?
shareI finally found a copy of this on Cinemageddon if anybody is still looking. I really dug it (no pun intended). It's actually a pretty cool obscuriosity, and a slice of vintage sci-fi genre television with practical effects and creature-suit make-up. The idea of going deep inside the Earth and finding weird places and creatures never gets old to me for some reason. Sam Raimi even has a small part at the beginning. The director, William Dear, also did HARRY AND THE HENDERSONS, so he's made a movie with both a bigfoot and a yeti as central main characters!
