Creighton Duke should had lived on & was the most interesting character on this film. He was so focused knowing so much about Jason's past & sharp enough to get to the root to figure out how to send Jason to hell. It takes serious vengeance to succeed from this highly intelligent hero although he wasn't in Jason's bloodline.

He certainly was more successful than the guy from Final Chapter that spent years learning about / hunting Jason, only to go down 10 seconds after finally meeting him ("He's killing me! He's killing me!").
