How did the same mask re-appear from Part 3 to Jason Goes to Hell

Same freggin hockey mask with the dent on the upper corner from the axe from part 3...Throughout the series the mask went to serious damage beyond repaired & still managed to find his back on his face...

Always remember...Don't be a sucker.

It wasn't the same mask. Only on part 4. On part 6 he acquired the mask from Tommy's friend Allen Hawes after he killed him in the cemetery, and that mask lasted until part 7. On part 8 he acquired the mask from the couple at the beginning of the film. And in parts 9-11 he just found the masks somehow. It was definitely not the same mask, that would have been impossible!

-Tommy did not acquire the hockey mask from his friend in Part 6.

-That mask is the same one from part 3 (it still had the ax mark on it) and it lasted till Part 7. I believe Tommy saved that mask because Part 6 seems to continue from part 4 and ignores the events of part 5, makes sense to me.

-Although the hockey mask in 3 & 4 has the three red chevrons on the mask and 6 only has one, its either the mask is so old they peeled off or it "continuity error". And in part 4, Trish broke the buckle part of the mask with the machete but its still the same part 3 mask that lasted till Part 7

Jason Goes to Hell's mask is a separate universe.

It is clearly a different mask. And it didn't have an axe mark on it, it had a crack on the top, that was the design that the producers choose for some reason. It isn't the original mask at all, it is a totally different design; the arrow on it is smaller, and the make is different. For instance, the eyes are perfect circles instead of ovals on an acute angle, the mask isn't as thick, it has a wider, rounder structure vs the Part 3 and 4 mask which has curvature around the sides of the face and it has a slightly indented lip that runs around the circumference of the mask. The writers had to work the mask in somehow, so they made Tommy's friend have it which allowed Jason to take it when he killed him. It was just a simple way to get Jason his mask quicker. You are over thinking things.

reply

Im not over thinking anything. Im basing this consistently on the fictional Friday universe.

Part 3 mask is the same mask Jason used that lasted till part 7. No matter how different the writers or creator of the hockey mask for the sequels have built them. Its suppose to be the same mask.

How did the part 6 hockey mask had the ax mark from part 3?

reply

Because it isn't the axe mark from part three. It's a crack. A design. Nothing More! Not to mention, Tommy whacked the mask off of Jason in Part Four and destroyed the left strap . Are you telling me that he had the strap repaired specifically to cremate the mask with him when he and Haas went to the cemetery? That just doesn't make any sense.

That was Trish who did that.

Are you telling me that he had the strap repaired specifically to cremate the mask with him when he and Haas went to the cemetery?

I know that and this is why I mentioned "continuity error" above. Are you telling me that crack on the part 6 mask is not the ax mark from Part 3?

Let see, you say part 6 mask isnt the same mask from part 3 but the mask has a crack right where the ax was embedded on his head in part 3, what a coincidence..

reply

Right, it was Trish. But yes, it was a coincidence. There is no way that that was the same mask!

My opinion (based on absolutely nothing) is that the mask in part six was actually Roy's from part 5. Tommy, mask enthusiast that he is, saved it and modified it to look they way it appeared in part 4. Because he's kinda nuts.

But, of course, the simplest and most likely explanation is that it is the same one.

Thit and thpin!

Only Verdugo seems to understand my original thread lol

Yes, it's a different prop. In-universe, it is the same mask from parts 3 and 4, just like, in-universe, it is the same Tommy Jarvis in parts 4, 5, and 6, even though he was played by 3 different actors, none of whom looked anything alike. The same thing applies to Jason; played by many different actors with many different makeup designs, but in-universe, it is the same Jason in every movie. And the same applies to Crystal Lake; portrayed by everything from a homemade cow pond in Southern California to a swamp in Alabama, but in-universe, it is always the same Crystal Lake.

Jason didn't get a different mask until the beginning of part 8.

>And it didn't have an axe mark on it, it had a crack on the top

Don't be ridiculous.
