That's the great thing about profanity, it's universal (I'm making it my mission in life to learn every Latin vulgarity that we know of!) One of the many things that link humanity.

Hahaha...

I just love this movie, and I actually think the swearing adds a lot to the film. The kids lives are gritty and they speak and act that way. If the kids spoke properly and without the slang and swears, they would be less believable. The fact that the kids swear in front of their teacher is another way the film-makers convey their poverty and harsh lives, and the classic scene where the kids ask why the teacher isn't married.... "Ahhhhh, allora, sei un ricchione..."

It is also funny for us Italian speakers, to hear the dialect and the slang...
