My wish: a special edition DVD!!!

At the time of writing (November 2005), all kinds of strange movies are coming out on DVD with restored picture, bonus features and commentaries. So why not produce a special edition DVD of "Indian Summer"? It's got a great cast of fairly well-known people, a director with some recent prolific movies and a strong feelgood message to a day and age that really needs it. I think it would sell.

I know that director/writer Mike Binder and Sam Raimi (who plays a small part) attended Camp Tamakwa themselves when they were kids. I would love to hear a commentary track where they recollect their own memories from back then. And I would like to see a documentary where cast and crew talk about the production. The movie itself makes me suspect they had a blast. The real Camp Tamakwa is still in service today and could be the subject for another documentary!

But most of all, I want the picture in anamorphic widescreen. The DVD I have is only letterbox widescreen, which wastes a lot of resolution. Newton Thomas Sigels cinematography is truly astounding and deserves a better transfer and presentation.

"Indian Summer" is a wonderful movie which I care a great deal about. Hopefully, it'll get the treatment it deserves on DVD (or an up-coming HD-format) very soon!

What would you people want to see on the DVD?

Bump (sorry).

I second that! I really enjoyed this film a lot. The story was simple on the surface but very thought provoking. It's a great story about growing up and looking back at where life has taken you. Great cast too! I scooped up this dvd for like $6.99 a few years back but wouldn't hesitate to buy an anamorphic remastered version with some nice extras.
