Jen's thoughts while looking in mirror?

Hey fellow Indian Summer fans:

I love this movie! In fact, I still have my original VHS copy!!

Anyway, I was wondering what you all think Elizabeth Perkins' character, Jennifer, is thinking when looking at herself in the full length mirror outside the cabin. She has kind of a sad expression on her face. Is she remembering a bittersweet youthful romance? Thinking about the passage of time? Worried about still being single? Remembering a more innocent time?

Just wondering what your thoughts are!

I still have my VHS tape as well, of course nothing connected to play it on now...

I remember the scene very well with Jen in the mirror and think you have covered a lot of good possibilities that she could be thinking about. My thoughts are: she very recently was about to start things up again with Matthew until Unca Lou interrupted them. With his wife Kelly being a friend of hers, guilt would clearly play a big part. Then she got in the conversation of campers taking over the camp, and by agreeing with Matthew that "some of us" should run the camp, Kelly immediately reacts, questioning if Jen and Matthew are going to run the camp together. It seems like nostalgia for what she once had, and then guilt for wanting it again at the expense of a good friend. I think the mirror had a sign saying something like "this mirror is clean, are you?, and I can't imagine she would feel very clean inside at that point.

I still enjoy this movie as much as I did when it was new, the story and scenes are timeless.
