Story Proves Torture Doesn't Work

As has been stated again and again. If you torture long enough you can get whatever confession you want. People will break just to stop the torture.

What angers me the most in stories like this, The Central Park Five, that other film about the three boys in Memphis who got railroaded much the same way, and the very many death roll and lifer convictions overturned because of bad law enforcement is that those responsible never seem to have to answer for their crimes not only to the people who the wrongly put away, but to the public they were supposed to be protecting. Every time these cops and DA's make a suspect fit the crime instead of digging deeper to see what they can find when they really don't have evidence they are letting the real killers and rapists stay free to harm others. That should have to be accounted for so others will start to think twice before trying to make someone fit the crime even when there's little more than a hunch they're going on.........Like The Hurricane who was convicted for being black near where the crime happened by a couple of black males. Cops grabbed the first they found and built a case out of nothing. Too many of those stories, and no one paying for those outrageous acts....Not mistakes

I don't quite agree. As an entity in itself torture does work it's just often applied to the wrong people.

There's a moral to this story Del Boy but for the life of me I can't find it!

Torture works when you want someone to confess to something that you want to hear, I.e. forced confessions. Torture is, as they say, for the torturer. Also, torture is a *beep* sick and obscene practice. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy, which is why it is considered a humanitarian crime. T

here have been studies that show humane interrogation and building a relationship with the suspect is many times more effective than torturing them.

Bet you'd support torturing an animal abuser.
