Unseen gem of a film....

I stumbled upon this movie after hosting a Russian exchange student during the '93 - '94 school year and getting my interest up about Russia. It reminds me a little of Dances With Wolves in an odd way - that one man on his own in a strange place kind of feel, and would probably have at least moderate appeal to all lone wolf kinds of film fans. It just grabbed me as special and different, and well-done depicting the bleakness of Siberia, and how communism crushed some people's wills.

Agreed.

It's a shame so few people know about this film. I watched it when I was younger and it really stuck with me. I just picked up a copy of the DVD.

it's very cool that Edward Albert did his own stunts.....I just recently bought it and it's very spiritual-Edward Albert said it was one of his faves and was very proud of it,,,Too bad he's gone....
