Something wrong with Armin Mueller-Stahl's dialogue

It seemed to me that something was very wrong with Mueller-Stahl's dialogue in this film and that it wasn't Mueller-Stahl's fault. Did anyone else notice this? I think there was some kind of strange dubbing. (the director's fault.) (June of joejune)
