Diabolique (1996) is pale in comparison with House od Secrets (1993)

I've only saw it once on Sky Movies, probably the year it was originally aired. Without movie remake of Diabolique (1996), HoS (1993) would most likely vanish from my memory. But after watching Diabolique, everything about it was poor, pretentious and utterly boring. Quickly I've recalled the House of Secrets, and it was soo much better. There was a certain darkness that Vernon's character brought to movie, and it was really better developed.
