Too Sensitive to watch a simple movie

Some of the posts are unbelieveable. Some people are commenting that Hollywood is irresponsible for filming this movie because it gives parents of autistic children false hopes, some of you are saying how innaccurate this movie is about autistic children, while others are just destroying a good movie when that's all it is... A GOOD MOVIE FOR ENTERTAINMENT!!!
Movies are made for to entertain. At least that's what the director of this film was doing. It's not a documentary, or the autistic side of the movie would be more factual.
Irresponsible? GOOOOOOOD LOOOOORRRD! It's HOLLYWOOD people, not the freakin' government (don't get me started on those idiots). They don't have to responsible. You freak about the incorrect dynamics of this movie, when there are movies like Natural Born Killers and House of 1000 Corpes? JEEEZ LUUUIIIZ! Get over it and quit taking the fun out of entertainment.

By the way, if you really know so much about Autism, remember, it takes a lot of testing and many specialists to "label" someone Autistic. I do believe these wonderful people in our world have tapped into a part of our brains hat we cannot do if we're labeled "normal."

Maybe Sally showed Autistic SYMPTOMS when she was coping within herself using a part of her brain that not many can get in touch with. After all, we only use 10% of our brains.

I've only seen parts of this film but, I don't think she was autistic. I think she went inside herself because it was the only way of coping with her father's death. At the end, doesn't she start talking again?

Hollywood is irresponsible for making a bad movie for this supposed entertainment. All false hope aside.

I believe that people with Aspie traits definitely have many gifts to offer the world and it would be nice if more people could embrace them for who they are and learn from these unique people, instead of trying to "fix" them and make them normal, as if we have some standard model that everyone must adhere to and if they don't fit the mold just right then they're out of compliance, like a bad factory part. It'd be great for society to be a little more tolerant when someone is different.

That said, I wanted to add that the 10% brain thing is a myth and it's not true. Sounds great because it seems to offer hope for the human race: If we could only get that other 90% working we'd solve all the world's problems and figure out the meaning of life. :)

But we actually use all of our brain, just at different times. However, science is finding a great number of variations on how brains function between different individuals. Even though we don't have 90% more brain sitting idle, waiting to be used one day, I think we have lots of untapped potential in HOW we can use what we've already got.
