UK/US

I understand that the US version (the advocate) runs for 102 minutes, whilst Hour of the Pig runs for 117 mins. Does anyone know what was cut?

Cheers.

I don't know yet. I am attempting to acquire a copy of the UK version, and will have it converted from PAL to NTSC so that I can view it. This is one of my favorite films. I'll post when I find out. And, thanks for the information on the run time difference.

good luck on getting a UK version - the prices fetched for 2nd hand copies when they appear on ebay are quite high.

I've got the US release, but would like to see the longer British version. Given the popularity of Director's Cut and Unrated versions of DVDs, I don't know why they wouldn't release it here.

I saw this film a few times in the UK (and Ireland) when it was released so it was awhile back but I will tell you what I remember. The explain text both at the begining and the end was added to the US version. same thing with the clerks voice over, added for the US. After the advocate's sex with the chamber maid, she gets dressed, while she does so there is a scene of dialog where some background info is given. Best I can remember.

There is a european DVD that runs for 107 minutes which I think is the same as the 112 minute vhs (shorter due to the PAL speed up). I don't know why the Curzon vhs says 117 minutes because nothing is cut in the 112 minute version I have...
