who was the narrator?

Does anyone know who was doing the narration throughout the film the "voice" of shane telling the story? I couldn't find it in the IMDB listing for the film

reply

It sounds like John Heard to me.

I don't think so. I'll listen more closely next time it's on STARZ.

i have watched this since my original posting and now it sounds to me like the guy who used to do the narration on the tv show the wonder years any body else agree?

reply

I dont think it sounds like him... Daniel Stern is the voice for the Wonder Years, not sure who the narrator is though in this movie.

could it be producer Tony Bill ?

reply

That's an interesting theory, that it could be Tony Bill. I was thinking Edward Furlong, but it seems like it's not quite his voice. I have to say I found the narration a bit distracting. It seemed to borrow from "The Wonder Years."

reply

i thought it sounded like matthew modine made it just me

reply

Sounds like Scott Bakula to me...

reply

whoever it is it sounds like the same guy who did either sandlot or a river runs through it...but i could be wrong.

reply

oops that was robert redford that did river runs through it :)

My two cents, it was Tony Bill. I remember him as an actor from long ago and it sounds like his timbre.

Also, as the director he would be able to give up his acting credit and save some money by not hiring anyone else to do this job.

reply

It does sound like him! But it is actually Tony Bill.

The narrator does sound like the narrator from "The Wonder Years" but it is actually the director of the movie, Tony Bill. He also plays the doctor in the movie who treats the younger son who falls on a nail. He is uncredited in the film for narration and as the doctor character. The source comes from the following blog-
Saw your comments about the movie "A Home of Our Own" on Amazon. You said you didn't know who narrated the movie. It was narrated by it's director, Tony Bill. I really liked his narration. Just thought I'd pass that along. I play the girlfriend, Raymi, in the movie. (i-am-tam.blogspot.com) :)

reply

Tony Bill narrated it. This is a good article.

The narrator is director Tony Bill

I found this on Amazon.com as one of the reviews. This "M. E. Wood" guy seems fairly credible; he is articulate, knowledgeable, and has several other reviews at amazon.com, so i have no reason to doubt his information.

"The narrator is director Tony Bill (thank you Tamilisa Wood) who really gives a Wonder Years feel to the film. I highly recommend watching this character driven film. Reviewed by M. E. Wood."

...from Amazon.com

I'm watching this movie right now for the first time in years. Kathy Bates is such a badass. Misery, Delores Claiborne, The Waterboy, and this movie too. She has a lot of range, from comedy to horror to drama. Not many actors can do these genres well. This movie totally reminds me of my own childhood. A single-mother-trying-to-get-out-of-the-ghetto type of story, ya know?

The narrator was Tony Bill.....

I don't know it sounds like the same narrator voice from Radio Flyer.
