How come Winnie knows what a driver's permit is?
She doesn't know what a road or bus is, but she knows what a driver's permit is and she knows when to say "dude".

shareOh, come on. It's a funny movie, not a documentary. Liberties were taken with the humor. Don't take it so seriously.
shareChill. I know that. I'm merely pointing out the discrepancy.
shareFor what purpose? To overly nitpick to sound cool or something?

Consider the daffodil. And while you're doing that I'll be over here looking through your stuff.
She is also the one who figured out that the children were in costumes and that All Hallow's Eve is a night to run amuck. There were long stretches of time when we aren't with the sisters where they could potentially learn of such things, and Winnie is the smart one.
Don't let people bring you down. If you have questions, ask them. :)
It's a discussion board. Why visit if people discussing the movie is so personally problematic?
shareSomeone else in another thread here theorized that she heard about it from the bus driver off camera. He probably said it to Sarah in a flirty way before she got to sit on his lap. That and she's a quick learner.
shareI don't know how she could have known what a driver's permit is, but she could have easily picked up the word "dude" from spending a few minutes with those two goons who stole Max's shoes.
shareAgreed. it was shown in the film Winnie was smart and perceptive. She observed the humans around her to pick up on things. Like figuring out the kids were in costume. Or what the bus was. Or when she watches the man singing on stage, and is able to play it off when Max outs them at the party.
So not hard to think she'd heard the permit phrase that night as well.
It's possible she learned about a driver's permit was when the witches rode on a bus earlier and the driver had his permit displayed.
shareI wonder how Mary knew what margarine was since it wasn't invented until the 19th century. Yet she mentions it when she is talking about scrod.
Mrs Voorhees is watching you!
