Watching seasonal movies out of season

So I normally watch this movie every year around Halloween time and thats it. This past Halloween was no exception but now my 3 year old is into movies too, and she loves this movie.
It is killing me to watch a Halloween movie into Christmas, then spring and now summer. It just feels so wrong.

Am I weird? Does anyone else have any issues watching seasonal movies out of their corresponding season?

i might if its on tv. if i have the dvd or digital then id probably keep it to around fall time.

Same here. There are just some films that feel better when seen around the right time given their theme and setting.

The same goes for Christmas and the few Thanksgiving flicks out there.

exactly. i cant really see myself choosing to watch Christmas Vacation right now.

I think I'm just one of those weird people who doesn't really care about watching a seasonal movie only during their season. Sometimes I just get in the mood to watch a Halloween/Christmas/Thanksgiving movie even when it's not Halloween/Christmas/Thanksgiving so I watch it.

This is my signature.

I watched it today, 28th July.

No, I watch this year round, like The Nightmare Before Christmas, I watch Waiting to Exhale during Christmas time though, its not seasonal, but I have to. Weird yes.

I like watching these fall/winter movies during summer bc Houston is so *beep* hot, that I need to get my mind off the heat and dream when r,the chilly weather gets here. Also fall and winter are my favorite seasons!

I get what you mean though, I used to feel like that, then one day I tried it, watching a seasonal film on a different time/season, I was convinced the earth would stop spinning and gravity would fail, but nothing happened so now I watch whenever. :)

When I was younger I used to always watch holiday movies too early in the year (in August or September) but then by the time it was Christmas time I was sick of them. So now I try to avoid it

Yay, tis the season!

Hocus Pocus has never been, for me, a seasonal movie... From 94-ish to 96-ish it was because my parents only rented it for me in October but then I got it for Christmas, and probably watched it once a month for years.

I'm definitely not one to care about the season when watching a movie or reading a book. Usually when I watch Christmas movies it's in spring or summer, I haven't watched a Christmas movie during the Christmas season for years.

And I love anything horror/supernatural, so any Halloween-type movie I'll gladly enjoy any day of the year.

No, you are not weird. You would be weird if you didn't feel that way. I never watch holiday movies out of season. It's absurd.

reply

Well, considering Hocus Pocus was released in the SUMMER of 1993, I'd say it doesn't have a season.
