'Gloria' is way hotter than 'Hexina'

even if she is a "pygmy", ha ha. love that line.

by the way, Hexina is hot, but all her body shots are by a double. you can tell when you watch those scenes.

if you're the salt of the earth, then the earth is a slug

I agree. I'm not just saying that because Adrienne Shelley passed away recently. She really does look gorgeous in this movie.

Adrienne Shelly was indeed a very beautiful woman. I saw her very first movie 'The Unbelievable Truth' upon its first opening in the UK, which would have been Feburary or March 1991. I fell in love with her from that moment, and I was devestated at her tragic death. 'Hexed' is one of my favourite films as it features two very lovely actresses, Claudia Christian and Adrienne Shelly. Still, there is a flaw in the logic of the scene where the statuesque Hexina refers to the petite Gloria as a 'pygmy'. Hexina and Gloria never actually met face-to-face, and Gloria's 8 x 10 photograph was only of her head and shoulders! So how did Hexina know that Gloria was so small in stature? She had no frame of reference to judge her height by!

Here I am again - four years on!

I recently met the lovely Claudia Christian as she was signing copies of her autobiography 'Babylon Confidential', and I asked her if it would be OK to bring up her work with Adrienne at her next convention's Q+A. After all, though Claudia does go into detail about her experiences on the set of 'Hexed', she never once mentions Adrienne. I was concerned that the subject might be too painful for her due to the horific circumstances of her co-stars death, or that there may have been bad-blood between the two women.

As it transpired, neither of these scenarios was true. The strange truth is that Claudia and Adrienne didn't actually know eachother. All their scenes were shot seperately in different locations at different times and the whole movie was simply put together in the editing suite after they went home! I didn't press the matter, but I got the distinct impression that Claudia Christian and Adrienne Shelly never even MET face-to-face!

That said, Claudia expressed deep sadness at the murder of her colleague, and thanked me for passing on the details of the Adrienne Shelly Foundation. This is a charity established by Adrienne's family that awards grants and bursaries to young women film-makers. They have an excellent website, which I would urge anyone interested in advancing the cause of women in cinema to visit.
