Summer 1993: I worked with a man who saw him

It was the summer between my junior and senior years of college (keep in mind that I was 29 at the time) and several of my co-workers and I were talking about concerts we had attended. One of them, who had briefly lived in Austin, Texas, said he had seen GG Allin.

I said, "What does GG Allin do onstage? All I know about him is that every time he performs, he always ends up getting arrested."

The following dialogue went like this:

Former Austin resident: "Oh, he [defecates] onstage...."

Other co-workers: "You are lying!"

FAr: ".....he sticks his microphone up his butt....."

Oc-w: "You are making this up!"

I asked if he stuck his microphone up his butt before or after he took his onstage dump; my co-worker didn't answer.

Someone asked why he would go to a show like this, and he said, "I just wanted to see if the guy was for real!"

He got another job, and the day after he quit, I read in Rolling Stone that Allin was dead. Too bad - I would have loved to have seen his reaction when he got the news!
