I'd like to see a true representation of the manga

The way I think they should do it is in episodic format such as an anime series. Each episode could be an hour long representation of a book in the manga series. And I think that Yukito Kishiro should be executive producer if not the director (he should have his creative direction represented). Also, I think that it should be in traditional cell animation format. The original anime didn't quite live up to the manga, but the soundtrack was pretty good. Although the question I'd like to ask the fans is whether or not you think the anime series (if done in the way I described) Should end the way that it does at the end of book nine (Angel's Ascension) in the manga series with the death and resurrection of Alita in the sky city of Tiphares? Or should it continue with the new "Last Order" series? I have to say that the storytelling and the direction on the original nine books is flawless in my opinion and ends as it should. And I know that Yukito Kishiro ended the series when he did prematurely because of personal reasons. But I have to say I've read the five new books of the "Last Order" series and I'm trying to see how they are coherent with the rest of the series. Although the new series is not yet over and perhaps everything ties in together at the end. In any case I love the new books and the artwork is absolutely exquisite! This would be my dream anime for this series but whoever works on it I'll still watch it. I just hope that Mr. Cameron is enough of a fan of the series to really do it justice. Granted you'll never please everybody (some fans of the X-men series hated the movies cause of the uniforms, actors that played the char. etc.) but as long as it's good and maintains the spirit of the manga I'll be happy.

I'd say, end it with "Angel's Ascension..."

Just give a Flashback episode to Yoko's past, and then have a little chaos in Tiphares, so he has the space to set the finale up. (I.E. Foreshadow Nova's destruction, Alita's power...in more than half a book...)

Angel's Ascension ends it in the best way possible...She sacrifices her life, for everyone else...Remakes EVERYTHING...

And's looking good doing it!

If I was there, I'd also do a few "filler" episodes of miniature bounties, etc.

Unless, of course, the books gave a full series...(If it's OAVs...No filler)

Best part about the anime is that, since the path is "known" you can foreshadow even more, and avoid pulling stuff out of nowhere.

Changes I'd make: Werewolf Guy gets a whole episode, though it's still a flash-back.

More Ido + Alita bounty-hunting...("Filler" episodes)

Motorball stays the same...though she MIGHT get to officially become "champ"...She is challenged to "meet his rank", not "gain a team..." (I.E. Beat a few, 'placing' tournaments...Instead of one big tournament) Her big fight with the champion ends the same way...More on Ed + her other guy.

"Tuned" gadgets are introduced all at once in a James Bond-like scene. (So we KNOW what she's got...) She only has a limited amount per mission.

More Lou + Alita...Especially the cute little Alita doll...(And more mini-missions before she meets Kaos, Koyomi, etc...And everything goes to pot)

End a "season" with her being blown to heck...Then either have a three-part finale, or the Last Order begins...Depending on ratings. (If Last Order...then Ascension is an OAV...)

i kinda think the last order series is nicer than the first, theres plenty of room for improvement for Alita in the last order series. so far its been a struggle to find Lou's brain, and its been nothing but tiphares. of course its not going to be as good or coherent because when we were on earth it was a constant struggle for freedom, a sort of "of mice and men" mixed with akira plot situations (not the anime but the manga... and book, dont you read?! AH!). Now were up in Tiphares and its totally different. i mean if you felt like you did now when you first started reading the first of the last order volumes, then it must be how different earth is to tiphares, everything seems too setup to be there (like reality), on earth everything was there, everything was split up and it was kind of more adventurous.

now its the melzidechk hackers, lous brain, and lots of fighting. kind of empty, but soon to find out what will happen.

still gonna read it.

maybe it's a little bit late to be replying to this and quite a few things have happened since they got to salem/tiphares, but i have to say this:

i've been reading Last Order and am currently up to volume 7. although it doesn't have the same sense of wonder that the original series had, it's still very very good. in fact the new series totally supplants the original ending and is superior to it in every way. i don't know how it will end but several volumes of augmented goodness obliterates what seemed to be a satisfying ending way back when i read the first nine. I would not give up great new characters like Sechs, Elf, Zwolf and the fleshed out back story for anything.

if there were to be a faithful anime series it would have to treat the entire story arc as one continuous entity and do each chapter as its own episode, either 15 or 30 minutes in length and running for several seasons.

but a full fledged trilogy of epic live action films would be cool too. :)

cheers!

Oh yeah! No 3D without 3D glasses!
