How?!?!!

How is this a straight 8 on IMDb?

reply

More people voted it 8/10 or higher.

That’s insane. This film isn’t funny or dramatic or exiting enough. When it finally gets good, the film is almost over. The story could have been done much better. These types of films usually get 5-6/10; 7 at most. Weird. I suspect it’s cause of Bill Murray and his status and repertoire now and then. My mother says he can’t act and we both fell asleep watching this. I can see why she thinks that because Murray is nonchalant almost so much it comes off as unbelievable. I have now seen it twice and I liked it less then I did three years ago.

Haha you're dissing a classic film. What a retard.

reply

I take that you are genuinely intellectually disabled for not accepting that people have different taste. Go give Nolan a rub from me.

reply

People are morons.

reply

Yes, you are. Film is a 10.

reply

Huh? I like this movie a lot.

I gotta say what I do like with this film is that it doesn’t rely on profanity for comic relief. I always appreciate that. However, it’s incredibly hard for these types of films to reach an 8, even on IMDb. So I wonder why it did? Is it the message? The nostalgia?

reply

Should be higher. 10/10.

I've never known anyone dislike it. Congratulations, you're special. And have very poor taste in films.

It is funny (to me and many others hence the high rating) but the reason for the high rating is mostly due to the message that the movie conveys. It's about a guy who is a miserable, good for nothing, lowlife who looks down upon everyone and everything that he encounters. He becomes stuck in a neverevending cycle of (what would appear to be) hell, and for a long time he stays the same jerk that he always was, but slowly he learns to care for other people, and changes who he is. He puts the needs and feelings of others before his on selfishness. When he finally changes he learns the real reason what he (and the rest of us ) actualy are here for, he finds happiness, and tge cycle of hell is over. It's good message that has been completely lost in modern society. Nowadays it's all gimme, gimme, gimme rather than what can I do to better myself and my fellow man.
