Checked it out from the library a couple of wk's ago!!!! Wanted to see it not because of Antonio but because after watching VINCERE(WIN) i was interested in seeing another movie about "il duce".

I did not expect that it would mesmerize me the way the story about him in connection with that poor soul of a wife/mistress/son did and ofcourse i was correct because it was very long, & politically paced and eventhough im not a POLITICAL SCIENCE MAJOR i still watched the whole thing!!!!

The best thing i can compare it to is how i felt about reading about NAPOLEON. I probably would have NEVER been able to read a complete historical book on him if it had not been for JOSEPHINE being included and I did accomplish just that with a book called NAPOLEON & JOSEPHINE. I read the whole thing even all the stuff about the battles because the descriptions where kept short and precise so that the UN-HISTORIAN in me could tolerate reading about them!!(i even started to think about that scene in DAMIEN:the Omen 2 when he was in the MILITARY ACADEMY classrm. & the history instructor is drilling him with questions about the EMPEROR and yes ive seen a movie version of the EMPEROR'S NEW CLOTHES i think the version i saw had Ian Holm in it(whos son BARNABY HOLM was in the DAMIEN OMEN 3:FINAL CONFLICT film) LUVED MONSIEUR N.!!!(& not just because of Roschdy Zem). AND LUVED that movie THE LADY AND THE DUKE(read the book on this real BRITISH fallenwoman also, who had to decamp to FRANCE and was there during the revolution it was a very long(film) but very interesting and visually stunning to watch!!!!
