Movie length

I realize this was aTelivision mini-series, but if Mussolini lived has as long as this movie, then he lived a long a boring life!

I don't think so. It's good for me, everybody made a good and interesting work, specially music, sound, wardrobe etc.
Bandera was good and all the others also. Very interesting mini history serie, at the end of it you will have the feelling to watch the rest of the "Il Duce" life.

It was rather long but that didn't bother me. However considering the length and title I was expecting it to be at least equal or mostly about his rise as dictator up to his death. This is good at showing his transformation from a Socialst to a fascist but even there it's incomplete and I was left feeling like there should have been more. You'd think they'd mention more than a brief message at the end that he became a notorious dictator. Though I figure they probably assumed everyone in Italy already knew that part of his life well, this shows a lesser known side of him. I was actually quite shocked seeing him as sort of a left wing socialist advocate when he was one of history's biggest right wing extremists but I suppose that was the point. But still they could have at least shown more how he went from Socialist to fascist which is only touched on here. Maybe a 5 part series detailing his entire life would've been better.

Totally agree! Six hours and just a slight mention of his life beyond WW1??? No wonder this film has such a miserable IMDB rating ... six hours long and mostly about nothing! Less of this stuff and a lot more of post 1920 would have made this a much better film!
