Why was the audience slowly clapping? What was the significance of that?
sharePretty sure it was their way of trying to make the act start. Like if they made enough of a racket about it, then something would happen.
Similar to at concerts before the gig starts, the audience will start clapping and/or chanting the name of the band that they're there to see to show their enthusiasm (or impatience).
Apathy on the rise; no one cares.
