Which Lovecraft story is this based off of

can't find any stories named Fortress on sites containing his complete works.

What on earth could this film possibly have to do with Lovecraft? It's nothing like anything Lovecraft wrote.

He's referring to the fact that many of Stuart Gordon's films have been adaptations of HP Lovecraft stories, however this film is not one of them.

Occasionally, once in a while, Jeffrey Combs appears in a movie that was not based on an H P Lovecraft story.

This is one of those occasions.

I doubt Lovecraft wrote anything like this. It's definitely not the style and genre of his writing, plus much of his work was published around the 1920s or thereabouts. I seriously doubt that any of the technology etc in this movie was even conceivable back then.
