This film - which is part TOTAL RECALL (199? ; Intestinal Implants) laced with some TERMINATOR/MATRIX-style mythology ( http://groups.yahoo.com/group/TechMechObject ) merged in with Prison Drama - such as CON AIR ( 1997, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Con_Air ) , SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION ( 1994, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SHAWSHANK_REDEMPTION ) , LOCKDOWN [ 2000, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lockdown_(film) ] and LIFE [ 1999, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Life_(1999_film) ] - with a little hint of MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE ( 1986, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maximum_Overdrive ) turned out to be OK - at least to me. It definitely conveys a theme dealing with the End Times - basically showing what the Prison System of the Future may be like - starting with the UPC codes being tatted on each individual's arm - like in the TERMINATOR franchise ( 666 - The Mark of the Beast, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Number_of_the_beast ). Even though many of you may think otherwise, I thought that this was a reasonably well-thought-out movie. However, I do have questions though about this movie. They are as follows:

1. What is a Breeder? Is it a synonym for an Expectant Mother/Pregnant Woman? ( http://groups.yahoo.com/group/GynaecologyInShockCinema ) Did that strange woman with the brunette hair that was long and curly ("There must be some mistake!") get detained by those Border Guards at the beginning of the movie because she was found to be -- pregnant? If not, why else did the Guards take her away when the Red Alarms first sounded off?

2. Also at the Border Gate, what was it about Karen Brennick's necklace that the Guards didn't like; why did she have to keep it hidden so much? (What is a Flat Jacket anyway?) Furthermore, were the Brennicks basically being locked up for having more than one child?

3. How do y'all feel about (parts of) the Modern Prison System being run by corporations (like the Men-Tel Corporation in this movie) and/or private companies? Do you or do you not think these institutions would be more productive then? More specifically, have any of you reading this have actually been in a correctional facility that was run (almost) like this Fortress place?

4. What was that circular thing in John Brennick's mouth that he had to take out while initially passing through those metal detectors?

5. Given the fact that this Fortress has some AI (artificially intelligent) machines that "assist" Director Poe as he runs this prison, wouldn't it have made better sense to have labor robots ( http://groups.yahoo.com/group/TechMechObject ) doing all (or at least most) of the digging, shoveling, mining and other dirty work to help expand the prison facility as opposed to relying on hardened Human criminals with discipline problems who aren't used to working - even if they have intestinators surgically implanted within them?

6. I thought it was SSSSOOOO CLEVER the way John secretly pocketed 187's (Maddox's) implant after he got blown away by the splatter guns. Also, I liked the way D-Day analyzed that data crystal by inserting it in the laser field to get all of those schematics and everything. Speaking of which, what type(s) of torture do any of you find worse (or the worst) in this movie: Splatterguns; Intestinators; Forced manual labor; Mindwiping; Being forced to join a Prison Gang; Prison Fighting; Prison Rape; Being separated from your Spouse/Lover (and maybe dealing with the Prison Director/Warden, other officials, guards and/or even other inmates "messing around" with that Spouse/Lover of yours) and/or Forcefully cutting a Human baby from his/her mother's womb before she dies after "delivery" ( http://groups.yahoo.com/group/GynaecologyInShockCinema ) ?

7. Did any of you think that this movie had some sociopolitical ramifications, like on the hot button topics of -- (NATIONAL) BORDER CONTROL, CITIZENSHIP, CRIMINAL JUSTICE and BIRTH CONTROL? (Yikes! ) I MOST CERTAINLY thought so. Also, was John's and Karen's baby actually digested by a snake , or was that just a symbolic image that was in John's head as he was being mindwiped? (I certainly hope that was just a symbolic image!)

8. What do y'all say about dream machines - or technology that can publicly relay dreams to others besides the dreamer himself/herself? Do any of you think that would even be possible? (I would love to replay any lottery numbers that I would dream up, that's for sure! )

9. Given the fact that ZED-10 (the Fortress supercomputer) had a female voice and that Poe himself wasn't exactly a regular Human, why couldn't Poe have just settled for ZED's "comfort" as opposed to messing around with Karen the inmate who was already married, thus being in direct violation of some penal codes? (After all, he could never trust Karen to even be near ZED's console, could he?)

10. I liked the way Karen - both literally and figuratively - rescued John from his ghostlike "Comatose State" ( http://groups.yahoo.com/group/heroineswhoprotectandrescuemen ), although I have yet to find out how Karen is able to shift from Voice Command Mode to Keyboard Command Mode (How did she get that secret code?) while using ZED-10 in order to do so.

11. What exactly does ZED-10 stand for (and mean) anyway? (That supercomputer turned out to be untrustworthy, scheming, sneaky and plotting on the side, didn't she?) Also, how exactly do magnetic intestinators and holographic crystals work? (I did not quite get that in this film.)

12. Did all of those inmates get fatally intestinated down in that mining area after Brennick and Company managed to escape thruough those pipes temporarily? (I hope not! I sure liked the way my man Abraham laughed at Poe as he had Poe fooled about his intestinator - even though Abraham still got killed though.)

13. Except for the weapons that they were yielding, I think that the black-armored Strike Clone Soldiers were pretty much the worst part of this movie. Were they retarded (looking) or what? The strike clones - and even Poe Himself - had intestinator implants, didn't they?

14. I thought it was strange how that already flaming Men-Tel Prison Truck all of a sudden explodes when it hits the side of that flimsy woody shelter. (Perhaps the combustible fuels finally reacted at the time of the impact, eh?) Did Karen secretly drag herself out of the shelter to give birth while John was out there trying to stop mobile ZED-10 (again) dead in its tracks?

Sorry to ask so many questions; I know that I seem like a very chatty guy right now. It's just that everytime I watch a (science fiction/fantasy/horror) movie, I always gotta critique and/or ask questions about it in order to fully understand the physics and applications that were used in the movie. Even though I am not a rocket scientist/engineer, I still try to be inquisitive. As with most other movies, only 1 male protagonist and 1 female protagonist survived at the end - and gave birth to a healthy and beautiful Human baby while in (or in this case, near) a "manger" - like the way Jesus Christ of the Holy Bible was born. If I had to pick a favorite quote from this movie, then it would be this one: Evil Poe: "Zed, they're escaping and you will be (held) responsible! Do you know what they (Corporate) will do to you? You will be lucky if you (just) end up a Speak 'N Spell!" Otherwise, feel free to respond to me as soon as possible; thank you, and remember - Crime Does Not Pay!

Who, me? No, I have never seen a single day inside a correctional facility. I'm actually a "Goody-Goody 2 Shuuz"-type guy who has been sheltered most of his Life. 

Lol there is always some prick who has to give someone who types a really good really long response a hard time. And some people wonder why we have politicians? Lots of dumb people in the world to pray upon.
