I love this movie.... - Fortress (1993) Discussion

I've watched this film a number of times, yet I realise its a bad film. It's so bad it's good goes the hackneyed quip but it applies here. Christopher Lambert tries to appear menacing by whispering, all supporting actors are terrible, the premise for the film is ridiculous - he isn't innocent, his wife was actually carrying a second child which means he was breaking the law. I'm not surprised few people have seen the film but I'm a fan of this piece of sh*t I must say.

Uhm this is perhaps the best performance from C.Lambert + supporting actors are not terrible. And have you ever heard about ethics in a movie - it was explaned that their first child died - if that would happen to you would you just obey the law (as you know having a child can mean a lot to some people).

After Abu Grave we can see the Fortress as something Dick Cheney might like to create. Indeed didn't the warden in Fortress remind me of the very Prince of Darkness, Dick Cheney.

I liked it. I went to see this movie at my local cinema and thought it was ok. Since then it has really grown on me. Cheap and nasty but all round good entertainment.

this film is good. too bad they had to put christophe lambert in the main role. They had spent so much money creating the fortress that they couldn't enrole schwarzenegger i guess.

Arnie would have ruined it...

I like Lambert, his whispering is his trademark.
Arnie has it one-liners, and people still love him...
Stallone mumbles, but people still love him...

I've come to accept Lambert's style and look forward to it in every film he does.

I love this movie too, it's a pity not many people (that I know) have seen it, and can appreciate it!

I saw this movie in high school when it first came out.. and couldn't stop thinking about/quoting it with my friends. I gotta see it again. Lambert rocks..

i love this movie too bad it comes in a crappy 4:3 aspect ratio. i want widescreen lol. stuart gordon i absolutely love. re-animator, dolls, dagon, especially king of the ants, all great films. nice to see stuart gordon doing a sci-fi actioner you know. robotjox, thats a bad film yet fun to watch lol. Christopher "Highlander" Lambert rocks in this film, yes he whispers i know but you cant help the guy you gotta love it. if you disagree check out ressurection
overall fortress is a great 90s film in my eyes despite a *beep* ass sequel which could of been a lot better.

I also love this movie. I have already seen it three times, but it was never boring or uninteresting. The characters are briliant, especially Kurtwood Smith and of course Lambert, but also his cell mates are cool. Today it's on TV again and I will watch it once more.

I love this film, too. Definitely one of my favourites of all time. It's just so much fun, full of great stuff like the intestinators, the dream-monitoring, fights, genetic engineering, and great performances from Kurtwood Smith and Jeffrey Combs. Sure, it's a bit cheesy and ridiculous at times, but it actually has a lot more substance than most films that get released. Christopher Lambert does a fine job, though I can't help laughing at his whiny voice.
If you want to see a BAD, but very amusing Lambert film, watch 'Druids.'

I saw this movie last night. I laughed so hard everytime Lambert screamed "NOOOO!" The father from "That 70's Show" was a great villiam too.

I haven't seen this movie. Yet. I will when I find it on sale. But my friend was in it, so I'll probably watch it with her. Apparently she was very good in it. :P

I watched it yesterday and really got into it. Absolutely LOVED D-Day, but I love Jeffrey Combs in anything :D. It really could have been quite crap but it managed to stay interesting and funny (even when it wasn't necessarily supposed to be!)

This movie is SO terrible it's hilarious. I was fortunate enough to catch Fortress and Fortress 2 back to back a few years ago. I laughed so hard I thought I was gonna die! This movie is SO entertaining to watch, but for the exact opposite reason it was made. The plot is laughable, the actors are church-camp talent-show caliber, the concepts are so ridiculous and the special effects are the worst I've ever seen. This movie looks like it was made for about $250. It will not disappoint you. They have these things they call intestinators that make your stomach hurt if you're bad...what an idiotic concept...and even more hilarious is their attempt to show it visually. Please watch this movie and laugh as hard as I did. All you people who say this movie is GOOD are out of your minds. What are you comparing it to? This movie is worse than a Lifetime movie in terms of everything from story to production value to acting to everything in between! Your stomach will hurt alright after this one from laughing so hard at how terrible it is!
