It only has high rating because everyone has seen crouching tiger, hidden dragon. Before that you couldnt take this movie seriously. Im not saying its bad, but its too comical.

It's rated high because Jet did direct himself and the jokes in cantonese are classic. Also if you know a bit of Chinese history and legends you would have guessed that this is a parrody of redflower society, Fong Sai Yuk and Wong Fei Hung. If you ever had contact with any of those 3 and know something about it you would apreciate this movie a little more.

I dislike CTHD because I hate drama and sad stories. I love Fong Say Yuk because just like the 99% of the targent audience it was written for in HK I love chinese comedy. And also like how they mixed facts with myths here.

Stylistically, this movie is much different from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. The goal of the film is more to entertain than to tug on the heart strings as CTHD does. Saying that its rating is high only because CTHD came out is like saying Pulp Fiction's rating is only high because Kill Bill came out.

It's too comical? It's a comedy.

Caution for your future movie going experiences, don't watch Animal House, Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein or Airplane. These may also be too comical.

And dude, 666 isn't the number of the beast.

Sayonara, not to be confused with cyanide, which is, of course, goodbye in any language.

I thought the movie was okay. There were some funny moments but the tone was way off.

I gave it an 8 out of 10. I just saw it and I have never seen Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.
