I just rewatched this again and it gets better with each viewing. I wish Kloves would direct another film. FABULOUS BAKER BOYS was fantastic as well. This is back when Gwenyth Paltrow used to be sexy! Quaid and Caan are terrific as well.

I truly think this movie should have a aggregate rating of at least 7. I guess the subject matter of the story turns people off. Defiantly NOT a family picture. I think the acting is so natural and I am sure there are people very much like this. Hopefully, not like James Caan's Sweeney, though . Yikes.
shareI just saw this on TV and was surprised with the star power of the film, and never hearing about it. Any one of the 4 stars should produce a known film. Just look at the number of comments on this movie. Less than a page, where-as even the most lame POS movie will have s couple pages of comments.
shareI know Steve Kloves was tied up for many a day with his work writing for the Harry Potter series, but I am really amazed he hasn't done more directorial work based on the quality of this film and that of The Fabulous Baker Boys.
BTW, I think this film features Dennis Quaid's finest acting performance.🐭
