Yep, she was very much the ho. I couldn't stand Abby in the movie. The book Abby is MUCH more likable and almost a polar opposite of the movie/character.

So she was a h*e for kissing the guy while attempting to help her husband an herself out of the mess he put them in. At the same time Mitch was of course the perfect gentleman when he slept with the girl on the beach for no reason except that he was h*rny?

Mitch was very much an a-hole for doing that and a manwhore, but this post was about Abby. That scene played out as if she was giving in to his advances and was enjoying being with him, which disgusted me.

I agree, it's very disheartening but it's not just the women and it's not just America. You'd be suprised by the immorality world-wide if you visit some other countries.

LOL. I love how people blame women for "loose morals" when it wouldn't be possible without men having loose morals right along with them. Women wouldn't have sex or need abortions if they weren't having sex with MEN, who clearly weren't using protection either. They aren't having loose morals in a vacuum, so you can't point a finger at one sex without pointing a finger at the other.
Long before marrying women had sex outside of marriage or before marriage, men were well versed on that activity. Prostitution is the oldest profession and it wouldn't pay without men as the clientele.

Your response makes no sense. Just because prostitution exists, Abby, the character being discussed in this thread, is not a whore? Her actions in the movie looked pretty much whorish. She would have sucked Avery's dick without any moral compunction. Bejasus, and you defending that woman makes it seem very likely that you are a major whore yourself.

Abby did what she felt would save her husband (she had NO feelings for that man), so there was honor in what she did (whereas what Mitch did was very selfish). Unfortunately in history women have had to use themselves to help others. No, I don't think Abby is a whore (that is a stupid, archaic word used by small minded people to judge women).

You should pay more attention. It's made pretty clear that she's only there to keep Avery occupied so the documents can be copied. It's not like she's sleeping with him to get back at Mitch or because she wants to.

No, disagree. The way I see it, she went to the Caymans to help Mitch and get copies of the client files from Avery's apartment. Clearly she didn't go there to get laid, although we don't know what lengths she would have gone to in order to get access to the files.
She needed Avery out of the way while this was done, hence the mickey finn in his drink. I doubt that sleeping with him was her first option.

I disagree as well. She went to get the files for her husband, and she had prepared the pills to make Avery sleep.

shareShe may have been prepared to let Avery have his way but I think taking off the robe was more to con Avery into thinking that they had sex the night before, which he wouldn't remember either way.
If he wakes up and finds Abby fully clothed then he might get suspicious about what she was doing there (which he may have been anyway) but if he sees her in a bathrobe it may lead him to think that maybe they did it after all. She was just playing it cool, imo.
Also at one point just before she left Avery quizzed Abby as to why she did it and she replied that she did it for Mitch and Avery replied that it was better than the alternative, i.e. that she went there to see him.
As I said in my earlier post, her main aim was to get the files so they could make copies, but we don't know how far she would have gone in order to get that done.

I think she was just reacting to the situation. She was worried that he would be suspicious if she didn't behave that way. She could have come up with some excuse in the next few minutes, but right then she needed to make him think they had spent the night together.

Hey, Paul Calderon's awesome. Back to the OP, I disagree, she was prepare to put sleeping pills in his drink, she didn't go there purposefully to play the bedroom hustle but in that moment she was prepare to do that because she felt sorry for Avery.

Avery was too F-ed up to do much of anything.
If Abby HAD to do it with him to get Mitch off the hook, she would have, but Avery was zonked out by the tranquilizers and in no shape to do anything sexy with anybody.
She did what she had to do to get the job done. Do you think she would have won over his confidence, if she stood in front of him and said a few sweet words?
