I believe the resemblances between Roy (Close Encounters of the Third Kind) and Travis (Fire in the Sky) are quite apparent, yet it's still intriguing to highlight them.

Firstly, observing both their faces reveals several shared physical characteristics, with their hair and gaze being the most striking.

Second, both characters are dreamers. As Mike pointed out to Travis, "You're a dreamer, and you're not ready for marriage." It seems these individuals are the ones who chosen by the aliens.

Thirdly, both characters are irresistibly drawn to UFOs, seemingly devoid of any logical rationale. One could almost describe them as hypnotized by these phenomena. Recall the scene in the car, when Travis, with an unexpected resolve, insists on moving toward the peculiar lights ("No, Mike, I wanna see what it is"). It's as though a force beyond their control compels them forward.
