"Real" in the sense that Travis Walton underwent an experience that he honestly could not, and cannot, explain. If you watch his videos, his authenticity outshines the unpleasant canards of his naysayers. Doesn't mean that his experience was objectively real, but it does strongly suggest that he's an honest person relating a real experience as he remembers it.

I think it might be helpful for us to come up with new concepts of what "real" means and what "fake" means.

I highly doubt Travis Walton was kidnapped by flesh and blood alien creatures from another star system. I highly doubt such creatures have ever visited Earth. Nonetheless I do think he may have encountered something that existed outside of his mind.

reply

Oh, he can explain it all right. He and his brother staged it.

Noone can tell you what your belief systems is.
IF you're interested in the story, Travis originally wrote the book, which was
fictionalized for a 100 minute movie by Hollywood.

Travis Walton is still active in the MUFON community, and has is own website.
it always bothers me that the american public turns to Hollywood for learning, when we know the job is simply to entertain.
If you're a Documentary fan the best on the subject "Out of the Blue"
The other countries around the world treat the subject of UFOs abduction, and Alien encounters differently than the USA and even the USA treats the subject differently in 2016 than they did in 1975.
If you do your homework you'll see the percentage of the population that
answers these types of questions (real or fake_?) clearly follows educational
demographics; the higher the secondary education, the higher the obtained information on multiverse inter-activities.
You might want to read Stanton Friedman, and begin to carefully wade through
the information. theres both good science and bad pseudoscience.
Wish you all the best in your learning.

Fake. No doubt in my mind. Are there aliens? Who knows, I guess it's a possibility.
I've never seen one, nor has anyone I know.

reply

I honestly don't know. I wasn't there so I can't confirm or deny it one way or another. But I still think this is a very good film whether it was true or not.

They "passed" polygraphs taken by an inexperienced examiner using unacceptable techniques. His boss later review the tests and stated that they were not valid and he would not accept any of the results.
