Bridges should have received an Oscar nom for this

I thought he was fantastic in it, and more deserving of a nomination than Rosie Perez (no offense to her performance).

Also agree. For that year, Jeff Bridges should have filled any of the following three nomination slots:

In the Name of the Father: Daniel Day-Lewis
What's Love Got to Do with It: Laurence Fishburne
The Remains of the Day: Anthony Hopkins

The award went to Tom Hanks for Philadelphia but I would have gone with Liam Neeson for Shindler's list. But I disagree with the academy awards more often than not.

The Oscar went to Tom Hanks because of the theme of the film ; he was great in it but nothing deserving an award.
As from your choice of Liam Neeson, is it perhaps because he plays a decent man ?
I much prefered Ralph Fiennes ; it takes great talent to portray an despicable character.
