I think that this film is clever and a whole lotta fun to watch;
Assante's deadpan-ness is a hoot and those around him do not disappoint in creating good interaction.
Reiner i believe deserves the lion's share of credit-he really is an old pro who has been around since the 50's !
The ladies are terrif,they all contribute to the satire.And the skunk on the rollercoaster is a keeper,for sure !

watching Summer rental at the mo , another great 80's classic from Mr Reiner.
I couldn't agree more. I kept away from this since most of these spoofs disappoint and, no offense, but Mr. Assanate isn't exactly a big draw.
He was terrific and the whole group of splendid performers did a great job. I know this will get better with each viewing and look forward to watching it again and again.
Yeah,I didn't figure AA who has played Mike Hammer and Ulysses in the past with the brawn and grittiness he brings to those 2 roles could ever play a "Neddy" Levine.
Now,that's versatility with a capital V !
It is overrated. Not the least funny. You thought this was funny? Hell of a lot more better movies than this and funny.

shareOne of the best Airplane-style movies ever made. It isn't more famous because people don't know what Assante, Sean Young, Sherilyn Fenn, etc. could do in this genre. Turns out, this! Cheesecake Fenn completely rising to the occasion reminds me of how brutally funny Dominique Swain was with Tracy Morgan, Chris Kattan, etc. in Totally Awesome (a lesser movie than this, but funny). You never know.
