Favorite Scene!

I still think this is one of Armand's best work, personally. The one part i can't stop thinking about is when he's in the court room arguments:

(Early part of the movie)
Ned: I can ask everyone in the jury, and they can see that this man is guilty!
Blind Man: I can't!
Ned: To Bad!

(Defending his wife)
Prosecuter: The prosecution will clearly prove that, this, blood thirsty murderer, was responsible for killing an innocent man

Ned: And the defense will clearly prove that the prosecutions case are idiotic, dooty, caca, poo poo! LOL

Oh, man. I got a bunch.

- Lana's trial, esp. recess ("I love recess.") and Ned's speech ("Put the 'can' back into American. Put the 'ju' back in jurisprudence...")

- Lola visits Lana ("Miss ah-um? She told you her name was Miss ah-um? And what other lies did she tell?")

- Max Shady getting out of jail

I always loved the scene wear Ned comes home dog tired and passes out on the bed wear his wife and Shooter are sleeping. The next morning Shooter is making all this noise trying to leave quietly then Ned is awoken by a little birdie whose chirp is barely audible. LOL

Also the scene where a big wave of water splashes over Ned's secretary and then we see Ned holding a dixie cup....then he takes a drink out of it. Outstanding!

"A fonzanoon is someone who farts in the bathtub and then bites the bubbles."

The best scene in this movie is when Ned dances around wearing red shoes and Max Shady looks sick at the sight of him.

When the Shady guy is reading the news paper in front of Ned's house and the headline of the news paper read "shady reads news paper in front of Neds house" That had me going for awhile.

I loved when Kate Nelligan and Christopher McDonald were speaking yiddish in the park and Bill Duke told them he could read the subtitles and they actually looked down at the subtitles...I was on the floor. I also loved when Ned was trying to get back into Lola's house and she wouldn't let him and after he drove the lawn mower into the back of the house she says, "I knew you'd come back."

reply

I also loved whne Chris McDonald was trying to sneak out of bed without waking up Ned (Armand Assante) and kept dropping change and bumping into things and fell down the stairs as he finally stumbled out the door and then Ned is finally awakened by the tiny chirp of a bird. Hilarious.

"Gotta light?" - "Sure." and then that look on Ravine's face when he looks into her purse using his flashlight.

One of my favorite scenes was when he went to start his car. He opens the hood and the whole engine is gone! What capped it was the sound of a fly buzzing around...I rewound that so many times!!!

That is such a good scene! Ned is wearing high-heel shoes while Max is wearing a bonnet (I think).

I always die laughing when Laura has the beer helmet on, and she starts fantasizing about Ned, then all of a sudden the beer cans on her helmet bust open. hahahah

Pretty much every scene Armand Assante is in lol.

He sells it so well because he plays even the silliest scene dead-straight lol. One of my favs is when he's chasing the crook at the fair and the crook jumps into a bumper car followed by Ned who takes one from a kid and proceeds to give chase complete with siren, lights and a loudspeaker lol!

If you expect the unexpected doesn't the unexpected then become the expected?

Just to add to that great scene, another part I found hilarious is when Max Shady tries on that one bonnet he likes so much; his whole face lights up in such an adorably cute manner ;) (syncs up perfectly with the song too heheh)

I love this movie so much! I laughed when Lola and Ned are in the bar, he sits down and they exchange words - then the stool breaks and he crashes to the floor. The look on his face is priceless!

Dancing scene with red shoes is the best scene. Just bought today this movie and watched it first time in years, I remembered it was very good, but it was excellent!

It was MGMHD the weekend - forgot how amazingly hilarious it was!!

The scene where Lola shows up to Ned's office and says "You know, I am not wearing any underwear." And she puts her legs up on his desk, as Ned opens his drawer and has a "panties kleenex box" and pulls it out and hands it to her. Hilarious!

reply

The part where he drives the mowwer though the wall hahahahaha :)

Or the scene at the begining when he quirts the mustard, lol

reply

Part of what made that scene so good was the writing on the panties box. "Pandora's pop up panties." Then there were Sean Young's cigarettes; "Black Lung Lights" complete with the tag line "more tar, less taste."

The production value (money spent) was quite high for a parody. The sets, lighting, camera work, score, and costumes were all right up there in quality.

I don't think Sean Young has been sexier than in this film and the two other women, Kate Nelligan and Sherilyn Finn looked fantastic. Fortunately Reiner made sure everyone got plenty of camera time.

Quite possibly Armand Assante's best work.

1) Lola takes the skunk to the carnival.
2) Lola & Ned tear the house up during sex.
3) Lola & Ned in the tub listening to Iron Maiden.
4) Lola & Ned in the tub, bubbles erupt...LOL.
5) Lana explaining her plan to kill Ned.
6) Weapons check on the train.
7) Court recesses. Lana playing craps, judge on swing.
8) Lana trying not to drown in tub, scuba mask...LOL.

I completely lost it when the reporter asked "how does it feel to have slept with a murderess" and Ned replied "it's better than sleeping with a Ninja Turtle" - mainly because the reply was so wtf unexpected. The scene prior to it with the skunk riding the roller coaster contributed too I guess.

Shady shoots his assault rifle with the silencer. Doesn't like that it makes too much noise. While adjusting the amount of silence, you can see that the silencer goes all the way to "11". He shoots it again and gets the desired effect.
