One scene that does not make sense (SPOILERS)

When the Nazi guy was calling those 2 men "F#%$@£s", how the hell does he know if they are gay? There's no way to know that anyone is gay unless they verbally tell you. The only way that Nazi guy would know if they were gay is if they were holding hands or making out, which they weren't. They could have just been friends / roommates, cousins, for all he knew.

Nazis are a##holes..plain and simple they would call anyone gay or racist names, these are the same people that look up to Adolf Hitler and Donald Trump.

The Nazis were the National Socialist Party of Germany. They believed in strong central government control over both industry and private citizens. They took over the press and had a propaganda minister. They disarmed their own citizens of firearms and stifled free speech. They abused and harassed anyone who dared not follow party line. In other words, quintessential Democrats - the type that are polar opposite of Trump supporters.

reply

By some weird twist of logic both Democrats and Republicans have turned into authoritarian shit shows. Which one is better is simply opinion. Both look to put a bit more pressure on the average citizen to fall in line and do the Adolph two-step. Goose steppers run America today and have for at least a generation.

As a conservative, I think the left is far more in lock-step with Nazis, but to be honest, it's totally disingenuous when people assign others they can't stand the label of being a Nazi - hence my post.

I think the tough one wearing a flimsy tank top was supposed to suggest it.

You've got to remember, this movie is almost a quarter century old. Things were very different back in 92/93. Political correctness and lgbt rights and equality weren't as big a thing back then. The movie does imply the men are homosexual, especially by early 90s standards. It also showcases how much of an *beep* the nazi guy is.

reply

People like that would definitely use the word "f-----s" as a general term of insult, threat and intimidation. You've never heard a jerk use the word in that manner before? Even in movies, jerks and criminals are shown using the word in that manner. They aren't too concerned about accuracy when it comes to their targets.

reply

I saw the movie in the theater in 1993 (in Santa Barbara, California as a matter of fact and the audience cheered when the town was mentioned by the homless guy) and even then I didn't understand why or how he ASSumed that. It only became apparent towards the time when they were leaving, the one who said, "I don't need this stuff today" in an effeminate manner, but that was at the end of their time in the store.

reply

It was obvious they were gay. Because of the way they were dressed, their hair, and the fact that they're two guys out shopping together.

reply

"two guys out shopping together"

I don't think that can be a factor in gaydar. Straight men go shopping all the time with each other, especially in military surplus stores. Most women have zero interest shopping in a place like that.

blind, deaf, & dumb

reply

If you are going to comment at least make sense.

reply

just trying to make it simple for you to understand

reply

You really suck at being coherent.

reply

how rude

reply

So, do you have a point to make or not?

reply

the point being that they were most obviously gay and only a deaf, blind, mute idiot would think otherwise

reply

No shit they were clearly gay. I never said they were not. The comment I was responding to said "two guys out shopping together" and I pointed out that isn't really a factor since plenty of straight guys go shopping, especially at military surplus stores, together.

reply

you expect me to remember your 5 year old post?

reply

No need to remember anything. It is all there in the text. You can read, obviously...

He may have seen them before and only now felt confident enough about it in D-FENS's presence to say something about it. (remember he erroneously believes that D-FENS has similar beliefs as him.) Also, I think the idea was that they were standing out by looking in his shop for outfits, and judging the outfits for appearance, the implication being they would use them for sex role-play or something similar. A normal customer would be more interested in function, not appearance.

reply

As I remember it it was simply by apperance and though D-Fense did have a similar way of thinking. The Nazi was more extreme and because of that it didnt go well with D-Fense. Which was off because it went with how D-Fense had no friends, was social, or anybody to share with so that probably added to his alienation and violent actions.

reply

It was obvious they were.

Much like other people here said, those 2 guys were gay. No question about it! Nick's assumption was correct but, Nick seemed closeted as well though.... No self-respecting guy goes shopping with another guy, the whole "I don't need this shit today", non-verbally responding to Nick's comments....
