The series would air at 2:30 on my local fox sation the summer before my 2nd grade year. Once school started I missed out on the series after that. Towards the end of that year, USA started airing the entire series on weekends (same showings on saturday morning repeated sunday morning).
If I saw an episode I liked on saturday morning, I'd tape it on sunday. Back then I, as probably everyone else did, had no inclination that the series would come and go so fast, so I didn't bother to make any real effort to capture all of the episodes. I only managed to tape a handful of showings that themselves were lost over the next few years. I did hold on to the last episode for awhile untill it was taped over too. I had no idea I'd have to wait another 10 years or so to see it again by downloading episodes on P2P programs.
Around 2003, my interest peaked again by downloaded episodes and nostalgia, and I found a site (www.exosquad.com) that sold a 4 vhs set of all the episodes (the first series is ripped from the offical vhs releases that are now long out of print while the 2nd series is from a variety of showings).
I pretty much shelled out $40 for all 52 episodes in pretty decent quality.
I'm watching Dark River right now as I type this, heh.
Good times, no?
